The North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department would first like to extend our gratitude for all of the support we have seen during the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors have done a great job of social distancing while using the parks and following all the rules we have set in place. Below we have outlined services that are currently different because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. If you have questions related to your stay that are not outlined below, please contact the park you intend to visit with your questions. This was posted on June 23rd.

Entrance Fees:

Daily and annual permits can now be purchased online here. If possible, please print out your permits and place them in your vehicle.  If printing is not feasible, please have your daily permit available on your phone to show park staff during your visit.

Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center

The Interpretive Center will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and the rest area will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. These hours will remain in place until further notice to allow for additional deep cleaning. Visitors are asked to keep a six-foot distance from other visitors during their visit.

Camping:

Multi-unit camping and group sites are available for use. We do ask costumers to review the COVID-19 Guidance for Overnight Camping document before camping.

Comfort Stations & Vault Toilets:

Comfort stations and vault toilets are open. Additional cleanings and closures should be expected this summer. Cleaning schedules will be posted outside of the buildings.

Equipment Rentals:

Starting Memorial Day weekend, equipment rentals may be available but will be site-specific. No transportation options will be available until further notice. Please contact your park for specific information in regards to your rental needs.

Special Events

The department is working with local and state health officials to determine how to best host events for the remainder of the year. Please visit www.parkrec.nd.gov/events, or park Facebook accounts for updated information.

Once again, we thank you for your understanding. We ask that visitors follow the CDC's recommendations on social distancing and personal hygiene while visiting our properties. If you have questions about what to expect or services currently being offered at a location, please reach out to that location for the latest information.

Although operations will be modified, we look forward to offering excellent customer service and access to legendary outdoor experiences.
