This Mother's Day, bring mom to the park for a relaxing hike. Use this time to reconnect or simply to enjoy the beauty of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. The guided hike lasts from 1-3 p.m. and starts in front of the Commissary on Cavalry Square.

Just us for a Park Clean-up Day and a geocaching Cache In, Trash Out event. We will divide and conquer in a group effort to help keep our park clean.

Join us at Fort Stevenson on April 10 and learn how to make maple syrup. State park staff will demonstrate how to tap a tree, collect sap and turn it into delicious maple syrup. Hear about the history of maple syrup and the equipment used at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

Head to Fort Stevenson State Park for a St. Patrick's Day Geocache. This unique geocache will take participants off the trail in search of Leprechaun's Gold! The pot of gold is a mystery geocache hidden within Fort Stevenson and contains six first-to-find prizes.

Participants will begin the hike at the Visitor Center between 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 13. After solving all of the clues to find the leprechaun's pot of gold, gold coins can be turned in by 4 p.m. for entry into a prize drawing!

Join in the first of four evening hikes planned at Fort Stevenson State Park. Experience a candlelit hike under the full moon in February known as the Snow Moon. Taking place on February 19, park staff will use candle luminaries to light the approximately one-mile trail, illuminated from 6-7:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. join us for a special light photography performance by artist Johnathan Campbell.

Celebrate the winter season at Cross Ranch State Park with a variety of activities including a scavenger hunt and snow angel coloring. Warm-up with hot cocoa and soup starting at 1:00 p.m.

Test your endurance and battle the elements by competing in the Fort Stevenson State Park Flakes of Fury Fat Tire Bike Race! Saturday, January 22, the event begins at the Fort Stevenson State Park Visitor Center for check-in and the rules meeting. Race starts at 1 p.m. Pre-register to reserve your spot!

The Outdoor Learning Center at Lake Metigoshe State Park is hosting a day camp for youth ages 7 & 8 that are interested in learning hands-on recreational skills and outdoor education.

Start 2022 by participating in a self-guided luminary hike along the Flicker Loop (approximately 1 mile). Luminaries will be lit from 6–7:30 p.m. Participants are invited to stop by the Visitor Center (open until 7:30 p.m.) to do some shopping, warm up in front of an outdoor fire, and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and smores.
