Build your own custom fishing rod with step-by-step instruction from Chuck DeRemer of Chuck's Custom Rods (Fargo, ND). This workshop is for anyone over the age of 14 (age 12, if participant is registering with a parent/guardian). The workshop is limited to 12 participants.
Cost is $250 and includes the cost of the basic rod building materials in addition to breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Optional handle upgrades will be available for additional fees that can be paid for onsite.
Ticket sales are final, no exceptions. If, for whatever reason, Lake Metigoshe State Park needs to cancel, refunds will be provided. If you have registered, but are no longer able to attend, you can send a replacement as long as prior notification is given to aschimetz@nd.gov on or prior to 5pm on March 29.
Registration opens March 10, 2023 at noon via ShowClix at https://bit.ly/LMSPShowClix. Registration closes March 27 at 5 pm for the Beginner Workshop and on April 24 at 5 pm for the Advanced Workshop—unless workshop(s) are sold out. Participants register by purchasing a ticket online.
Workshop schedule consists of Friday (6 pm-9 pm) and all day Saturday (9 am-5 pm). Rods must continually spin during drying process overnight on Saturday; fishing rods will be available for pick-up at 8am on Sunday morning.
Workshop will take place in the Lake Metigoshe State Park Dining Hall, located near the entrance of the park.
Lodging is available onsite as there are full service, semi-primitive and primitive cabins available onsite in addition to a semi-primitive yurt. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-807-4723 or by visiting www.parkrec.nd.gov.
