Join us for a weekend full of fun, discovery, and nature at the 9th Annual Bison Bash! This family-friendly event celebrates the prairie ecosystem and the iconic bison through hikes, a fun run, games, trivia, and creative experiences, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy.

We’re also excited to welcome Ashley Nelson, our talented Artist in Residency, to Bison Bash! Ashley blends her two great passions—art and nature—into inspiring, hands-on experiences you won’t want to miss. Join Ashley for two separate 1-hour programs, where you’ll explore the beauty of the natural world through creative expression. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just curious, these sessions are for all ages and skill levels!
 

Friday, August 8
7:30 p.m. – Bison Basics Interpretive Program
Kick off the weekend at the Amphitheater with an engaging program led by The Nature Conservancy staff.

Saturday, August 9
8:00–9:30 a.m. – Prairie & Plant Hike on The Nature Conservancy lands
10:00–11:00 a.m. – Artist in Residence Program 1
2:00–3:30 p.m. – Cinnamon Charge Water Obstacle Course
6:00–7:00 p.m. – Artist in Residence Program 2
7:30 p.m. – Bison Trivia Game at the Amphitheater

All Day – Crafts, games, and a scavenger hunt in the Visitor Center

Sunday, August 10
8:30 a.m. – Fun Run: 5K or 10K
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Visitor Center

The event is free of charge and open to the public. An annual or daily vehicle permit is required for park entrance and can be purchased online or at the park.
