Bison Bash

Join us for a weekend full of fun, discovery, and nature at the 10th Annual Bison Bash! This family-friendly celebration highlights the prairie ecosystem and the iconic bison with guided hikes, hands-on games, trivia, and creative activities for all ages.
 

Friday, August 7
7 pm - The Nature Conservancy Program and Bison Craft

 

Saturday, August 8
8 am - Fun Run 5K at the Visitor Center
9 am - Bison Tour at The Nature Conservancy
10 am - Bison Tour at The Nature Conservancy
11 am - Bison Tour at The Nature Conservancy
1 pm - Dress like a Bison at the amphitheater
Come dress up like a bison and learn why bison have certain adaptations!
2:30 pm - Water obstacle course at the Visitors Center
Come join us as we cool down through Cross Ranch's obstacle course with some water fun!
4 pm - Bison Jeopardy at the amphitheater
Test your bison knowledge and play jeopardy!
7 pm - What Bison Eat at the amphitheater
Join us in going on a small walk to learn what bison eat. Stick around until the end to make a bison related snack!

 

All day at the Visitors Center:
Crafts, Coloring sheets and a scavenger hunt

 

Hosted in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, Bison Bash offers a unique opportunity to learn about prairie conservation while enjoying the outdoors together. Come explore, play, and celebrate one of the Great Plains’ most legendary animals! 

 

The event is free of charge and open to the public. An annual or daily vehicle permit is required for park entrance and can be purchased online or at the park.
