Lake Metigoshe State Park

Will you survive Jaws at LMSP? Imagine watching Jaws along the Lake Metigoshe shoreline, whether it is on the beach, the grass or even dangling your feet in the water in the swimming area. The movie will be shown at the swim beach, so feel free to bring a chair, beach towel, blanket or something to float on for this special event. We'll provide the popcorn!

When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.

This movie is was rated PG, would would probably be rated an R in today's standards as there are scenes that may be disturbing for young viewers.

The event is free of charge and open to the public. An annual or daily vehicle permit is required for park entrance and can be purchased online or at the park.
