It's time for kids to show off their fishing skills at the North Dakota Junior Governor's Cup Youth Fishing Derby. This event is taking place at Fort Stevenson State Park on Saturday, July 20 in the DeTrobriand Marina. The derby is open to anyone 17 years old or younger. Registration starts at 10:00 am in the DeTrobriand Lodge, fishing starts at 10:30 am. Prizes will be awarded for the largest walleye, largest fish and most fish caught. Participants can win in only one category.
The park has a limited number of loaner poles available, so bring your own fishing rod if possible. Lunch will be served following the derby. This event is free of charge in accordance with a daily or annual vehicle pass.
