Lake Metigoshe State Park is excited to offer a winter break day camp for youth ages 9–12. Online registration opens Wednesday, November 26 at 9 a.m. Cost is $40 per participant, and campers must be ages 9–12 at the time of camp. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Camp begins at 9 a.m. and features hands-on activities about winter adaptations and outdoor recreation. Campers will explore why seasons change, discover how plants and animals survive winter, and take on a secret “escape room” mission filled with puzzles and codes to help Jackie Frost make it snow again. Weather permitting, we’ll spend time outside snowshoeing, kicksledding, and skishoeing.
The day wraps up at the Warming House, where pickup is at 4 p.m. We plan to spend about half the day outdoors, so participants must come dressed in full winter gear—coat, snow pants, gloves or mittens, hat, scarf, and warm boots. Snacks and lunch are provided.
