Our Mother's are the one person that can turn a frown upside down. Hugs from a Mom are the best. Most of all, Mom will always have a place in our heart. This Mother's Day, bring Mom to the park for a relaxing hike. Use this time to reconnect or simply to enjoy the beauty of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. The hike is about 2- 3 miles and will start in front of the Custer House on Cavalry Square. The hike is an easy hike on concrete/ gravel surfaces perfect for the whole family and even that new mom with a stroller. #mothershikefalsp
 

Volunteer Day at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. In late March the Fort Lincoln Campground was flooded by an Ice jam on the Heart River. A full month of clean up has gone by and we need your help with the finishing touches. Playground resurfacing, take down tree and shrub fencing, moving some dirt to fill in holes and other small clean projects to be completed. 

Learn more about camping, gear, cooking and more! Whether you are new to camping or are looking for new ideas, this is an event for you! Samples of different pack foods and a light dinner provided (while supplies last). More details to come!

Join us for the 12th annual Bismarck Earth Day Festival! This is a FREE family event with hands-on learning activities for all ages. We will have earth-friendly giveaways and door prizes, and concessions will be available for purchase during the event.

After the winter of 2019, the crazy in everyone at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park has taken over. NOW it's your turn to be on the hunt for crazy and take those CRAZY/FOOLISH selfie/group photos for this #photoinspired hiking challenge!

We ask all participants to bring your smartphone or a digital camera to be used during the hike. Any way you take your photos you will be required to show the crazy evidence at the end to be entered to win a foolish prize.

It all starts at 1:00 pm on April 14th at the State Park Visitor Center!!! This is not RACE, but you need to have a creative finish so come early and get in the foolish mood. Everyone will have a chance to win great prizes with the Twitter & Instagram Photo Contest. The hike ends at 4:00 pm. Come anytime between 1 - 4 pm to complete the hike.

Maple Sugaring in North Dakota! Learn the history of maple tapping, see the tools and find out what the box elder tree has to do with maple syrup. Presentations, horse-drawn wagon rides, kids hands-on activities, and live entertainment throughout the day. Don't miss out, experience pure maple cotton candy and sugar snow!

Like finding a pot of gold or seeing a triple Rainbow – St. Patrick’s Day 2019 falls on a Sunday and therefore the luck of the Irish will be ever present on St. Patrick’s Day for the official hike day of the third hike in the 2019 12 Months - 12 Hikes Challenge!
 

This event is primarily for ladies over the age of 16 who wish to learn or improve on skills associated with several outdoor recreational activities including snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and more! 
 

Bring your Valentine this #Valentines Season to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, because we have the perfect way to spend some quality time with that special someone or the whole family. Join us for the annual “Sweetheart Hike” on Sunday, Feb. 17th beginning at 1 p.m. The hike about 2 miles over the hills and through the snow, so wear those snowpants and boots, and bring a sled to pull. 

Come out and experience a candlelit hike under the full moon. The Full Moon in February is known as the Snow Moon. Cross-country ski, snowshoe or hike, park staff will use candle luminaries to light the trail. Meet at the Visitor Center at 6:00 pm. Afterward, enjoy snacks and refreshments. The trail is approximately one mile.
