National Trails Day - Turtle River

Categories: Turtle River State ParkJoin the park staff for multiple different National Trail Day festivities. On Friday, May 31, go on a modern-day treasure hunt and find your own geocache! This activity starts at 8 p.m. by the amphitheater. On Saturday, June 1, hit the trails on a demo bike. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. try out some different models of bikes and see what your favorite is, meet by the CCC Memorial Shelter. There will also be yard games and we encourage you to bring a lunch as well. The final event will be on Saturday, June 1, at 8 p.m. starting at the amphitheater. This hike will be exploring the different methods of finding your way in the wilderness.
National Trails Day - Lake Metigoshe

On Friday, May 31, there will be a guided hike on ND’s first National Recreation Trail, the Old Oak Trail. This hike will start at 7:00 p.m. at the warming house. On Saturday, June 1, there will be a Dakota Explorers program for kids of all ages. This program will begin at 2 p.m. at the park’s amphitheater. There will also be a night hike on Saturday, June 1, beginning at 10 p.m., meet at the warming house. For even some more fun, join in on the weekend scavenger hunt. If you find a painted rock, (1 rock/household) bring it to the office and win a goodie bag.
Memorial Day

Categories: Cross Ranch State ParkThis Memorial Day remember those brave men and women who have served our country in the armed forces. Here at Cross Ranch State Park, we welcome all military personnel with free entrance to the park. We will also be setting out popular camping games (ex. corn hole, ladder toss, bocce ball) to play throughout the park. The visitor center will be decorated with red, white, and blue to show our support and gratitude. Campers will also be able to show their support for the military by decorating their own campsites. There will be prizes for the campsites that display the most patriotic spirit.

OHV Certification Class - Kenmare

OHV operators age 12 to 16 must possess an OHV safety certification or a valid driver's license to legally operate on public land, including ditches, trails, and roadways. In this class, riders will learn to ride safely and become certified to ride in North Dakota. To register call (701) 328.5357. DOT helmets will be given to those who bring an adult to class.
