Join us for the annual Bismarck Earth Day Festival! This is a FREE family event with hands-on learning activities for all ages. We will have earth-friendly giveaways and door prizes, and concessions will be available for purchase during the event.

Bring your hiking boots and camera to this socially distanced activity geared for families of all ages. Search for hidden eggs along a portion of the North Trail System at Lewis and Clark State Park, in addition to an Easter-themed selfie station, grab-and-go craft, hot cocoa and music. 

Maple Sugaring in North Dakota! Learn the history of maple tapping, see the tools and find out what the box elder tree has to do with maple syrup. Presentations, horse-drawn wagon rides, kids hands-on activities, and live entertainment throughout the day. Don't miss out, experience pure maple cotton candy and sugar snow!

The next time frame to complete a qualifying hike opens this Sunday, March 14 and remains open until March 28. A number of the North Dakota state parks are hosting St. Patrick's Day-themed events in the coming weeks, so come wearing your green and get another hike closer to completing the 12 Months-12 Hikes Challenge!

Fort Stevenson State Park is offering a special outdoor event on February 27. Experience a candlelit trail under the full moon in February known as the Snow Moon. Park staff will provide candle luminaries to light the approximately one-mile trail, illuminated from 6-7:30 p.m.

Bring your loved ones to this Valentine's Day themed skating and hiking event at Lewis & Clark State Park. Choose between two date night activities: skate under the marina lights or hike our luminary lit Prairie Nature Trail.

This event is primarily for ladies over the age of 16 who wish to learn or improve on skills associated with several outdoor recreational activities to include activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, darkhouse spearfishing and more!

Bring your valentine to the annual Sweetheart Hike on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. The guided hike will be about two miles starting and ending at the Commissary Store.

Join Cross Ranch State Park for a legendary winter celebration for all ages on Saturday, February 13 from 2-7 p.m.

Grab your coats and grease your spokes! Fort Stevenson State Park is hosting the Flakes of Fury Fat Tire Bike Race on Saturday, January 23!
