Ring in the New Year at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park with the 2026 First Day Hike. This annual tradition is a refreshing way to start the year outdoors and enjoy the beauty of winter in the park.

Wrap up 2025 with a hike! Join Cross Ranch State Park for the final hike of the year! Meet at the Visitor Center at 4:00 PM and choose between a 1-mile or 3-mile trek along the Matah Trail. After your hike, warm up by the campfire and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider.

Lake Metigoshe State Park is hosting a winter break day camp for youth ages 9–12. This camp features hands-on activities focused on winter survival skills, including fire starting, orienteering, shelter building, and finding food and water.
