The public is invited to experience the 40th Annual Sodbuster Days, Sept. 7-8 at Fort Ransom State Park. The weekend will be packed with activities for the whole family to experience what homesteading and pioneer life was like in North Dakota.

Experience the Lantern Hike from 9-10 pm, exploring the park’s nocturnal beauty by the soft glow of lanterns. New to the series, hikers will have the opportunity to decorate a paper lantern and walk the park's perimeter trail. 

This Labor Day weekend, the legendary Glow Hike returns to Fort Abraham Lincoln. Throughout the hike there will be UV light and music party stations. Join us prior to the event to utilize our face painting stations and get your glow on!

Take a look at the world from a different perspective in the second hike of our Evening Hike Series! Participants will stop at stations along the trail where our team will encourage you to use your senses & learn how nocturnal animals navigate the night.

Join us for our Artist in Residence Weekend! Lynae Hanson’s works are a mix of realism and expressionism, featuring an abstraction of colors. Learn more from Lynae, join in a hands-on painting session where you'll learn about all the colors in nature, and explore the world of color on a guided hike.

Join us this summer for Fort Abraham Lincoln's Star Parties. The event will be held at the Fort Abraham Lincoln Cavalry Square / Parade Ground from 10:00 pm to 12:00 am. Please plan on arriving a little early to get a good observation spot.

Annual Bison Bash activities will include a fun walk or run, scavenger hunt, bison fact presentation and trivia. As well as a guided hike on the nature preserve and a fun-filled water-themed obstacle course!

This year, we will be competing for the best event of the summer with Kids Weekend 2024: Park Olympics!

Celebrating 50 years of Fort Stevenson State Park by bringing together classic events, the Sailboat Regatta, Club de Skinautique Waterski show and Lighted Boat Parade, with some fun additions.

Come out to Fort Ransom State Park and enjoy Kids' Weekend. A bouncy house and kids' activities will be held throughout the day. All ages are sure to have fun!
