Bluegrass Goes Pink is an event that raises awareness of cancer. All proceeds that are collected from this event are donated to the Bismarck Cancer Center. The day starts with a 5K & 10K run/walk trail race at 9:00 am. Cottonwood then plays relaxing bluegrass music during the evening to commemorate cancer survivors and those who have fought bravely.
Bring your costumes, decorations, and candy to join us for a great weekend at the lake. There's will be a variety of spooky events that are fun for the whole family taking place to include a spooky movie and trick-or-treating in the modern campground.
It's time for kids to show off their fishing skills at the North Dakota Junior Governor's Cup Youth Fishing Derby. This event is taking place at Fort Stevenson State Park on Saturday, July 20 in the DeTrobriand Marina. The derby is open to anyone 17 years old or younger.
Come interact with the Missouri River Muzzleloaders as they reenact historic demonstrations! The Muzzleloaders will be at Fort Mandan every Saturday starting July 13 through August 17 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Come celebrate the Christmas spirit at Fort Ransom State Park's 5th Christmas in July! Decorate your campsite for Christmas. This camp is for youth ages 8-10 and will focus on environmental education and recreational skills. Explore a wetland, play ecology games, shoot archery, go fishing and more!
OHV operators age 12 to 16 must possess an OHV safety certification or a valid driver's license to legally operate on public land, including ditches, trails, and roadways. In this class, riders will learn to ride safely and become certified to ride in North Dakota. To register call (701) 328.5357
Lake Metigoshe State Park will be hosting artist Jennifer Matthews the week of July 14 - 21, 2019 for the Artist in Residency Program.
One-of-a-kind artwork is coming soon to the Fort Mandan Visitors Center! The center will display artwork created by the Prairie Plein Air Artists starting July 13, 2019 through the rest of the summer.
